A desktop flashcard app built for my own language learning, and the first proof that AI-assisted development could take me outside websites.
Offline, multilingual, and built on a stack I had never worked in. It showed that with AI assistance I could control a larger technical scope than my own hand-coding ability implied.
It also showed the limits of that. The workflow was immature: mostly prompt, output, fix. I did not become a Rust developer. What I was actually learning was how to hold a bigger system in view.
